Well Pump Technician
West Columbia, SC β On-site | Full-time | Pay based on experience
Looking for a physically active, outdoor career where you can learn a skilled trade and grow with a stable company? Austin Drilling is seeking a Well Pump Technician to support our well drilling and pump service operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, and being part of a hardworking crew.
What You'll Do
- Assist with well pump installation, service, and repair
- Support drilling crews with day-to-day job site operations
- Load, transport, and organize materials, tools, and equipment
- Operate company vehicles, tools, and machinery as trained
- Assist with drilling and pump service processes
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
- Communicate professionally with team members and customers
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn a skilled trade
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving/insurance requirements
- Willingness to travel to job sites within our South Carolina service area
- Ability to learn operation of tools, equipment, and machinery
- Interest in obtaining a CDL (company support may be available)
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience in construction, drilling, mechanical, or a related field
Driving & Motor Vehicle Record Requirement
This position requires driving as part of job duties. Employment is contingent upon maintaining a valid driver's license, meeting the Company's motor vehicle record (MVR) standards, and remaining insurable under the Company's insurance policy. Failure to meet or maintain these requirements may result in removal from driving duties or termination of employment, where permitted by law.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment (up to approximately 50 lbs)
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and remain active for extended periods
- Ability to use hands and arms to operate tools, equipment, and machinery
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions

Drill Tech
West Columbia & Newberry, SC β On-site | Full-time | Pay based on experience
Austin Drilling is hiring a Drill Tech to work alongside our operators on residential, agricultural, and industrial water well projects across South Carolina. You'll run equipment, keep the site safe and moving, and learn the trade from crews who have been doing it here since 1960.
What You'll Do
- Provide general labor assistance to operators on water well projects
- Ensure adherence to all safety and quality procedures to maintain a safe, efficient work environment
- Lift and move drill pipe and materials weighing up to 50 lbs, and assist with lifting components up to 100 lbs
- Collaborate with the drilling crew and work independently to accomplish tasks and achieve project goals
- Operate and maintain service trucks, backhoes, forklifts, generators, engines, pumps, and other drilling site equipment, including lubrication and cleaning
- Transport drilling rigs and equipment between sites and set up job sites
- Complete daily paperwork accurately to maintain time and material records
- Collect and accurately label drill cuttings or water samples for analysis
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record; capable of obtaining a CDL (Class B minimum, Class A preferred)
- Ability to work with equipment that vibrates and near moving mechanical parts
- Dependable, and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good organizational skills and the ability to work in small teams
- Mechanical aptitude a plus; construction and welding experience preferred
Preferred (Not Required)
- High school diploma or GED
- Construction site experience or similar outdoor industry experience
